The Office of the Accountant General of the Federation (OAGF) has confirmed a delay in the payment of June 2025 salaries to some Federal Government workers, especially those whose bank accounts are domiciled with Zenith Bank Plc.
In a statement issued on Friday, the OAGF Director of Press and Public Relations, Bawa Mokwa acknowledged the widespread complaints from affected public servants and attributed the delay to a technical network glitch encountered during the salary processing phase at the bank.
“The issue affected salary payments across several Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs),” the statement said. “We understand the distress this may have caused and are taking swift steps to ensure the problem is resolved as quickly as possible.”
According to the OAGF, collaborative efforts with service providers and key stakeholders are currently underway to reprocess the failed transactions without further delay.
“We sincerely regret the inconvenience caused and reassure all affected employees that their salaries will be paid shortly,” the statement added. “The welfare of Federal Government employees remains a top priority.”
The Office also emphasized its commitment to transparency, accountability, and efficient service delivery, urging all affected staff to remain calm and assured of ongoing efforts to restore normalcy.
