NNPCL’s Olufemi Soneye Clinches 2025 NIPR Spokesperson of the Year Award

Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), Chief Corporate Communications Officer, Olufemi Soneye

has been named the 2025 Spokesperson of the Year by the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR).

Soneye triumphed over top contenders including Shell’s Igo Weli, NIMASA’s Osagie Edward, Nigeria Police Force’s ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, and Sifax Group’s Olumuyiwa Akande. His victory followed his win in the Distinguished Spokesperson (Oil and Gas) category, continuing his winning streak from 2024.

Praised for his strategic communication, crisis management skills, and public influence, Soneye was recognized by the NIPR adjudication panel as a “diligent strategist.” The award was presented by Hon. Joshua Audu Ghana, Deputy Chairman, House Committee on Power.

In his acceptance speech, Soneye credited the NNPCL team for the achievement, saying the award reflects their collective dedication.

Presenting him the plaque at the National Spokespersons Award 2025, chairman of the event, Deputy Chairman, House Committee on Power, Hon. Joshua Audu Ghana, said the institute would celebrate Soneye throughout 2025 as the current NIPR spokesperson award winner.
