
NNPC Appoints Odeh, Adewunmi to Strengthen Corporate Communications and Stakeholder Relations
The Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited has announced the appointment of two seasoned executives, Mr. Andy Odeh and Mrs. Morenike Adewunmi, to key leadership positions aimed at bolstering its communications and stakeholder engagement.
Mr. Odeh assumes the role of Chief Corporate Communications Officer, while Mrs. Adewunmi takes on the position of Chief Relations Officer.

Odeh, who brings over three decades of experience in communications and business administration, previously had a distinguished 26-year career with Nigeria LNG (NLNG). During his time at NLNG, he held leadership roles in community relations, logistics, information management, corporate communications, government relations, and external relations. He is credited with managing NLNG’s rebranding, instituting the NLNG Prize for Energy Reporting, and implementing one of Nigeria’s most successful micro-credit schemes for host communities.
An alumnus of the University of Jos, University of Lagos, INSEAD Business School, and the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), Odeh is widely recognized for his contributions to public relations, advertising, and sustainable development initiatives.

Mrs. Adewunmi, a legal professional with more than 25 years in the oil and gas sector, joins NNPC with deep expertise in stakeholder management and advocacy. She built her career at the Shell Companies in Nigeria (SCIN), where she held strategic positions including Regulatory Affairs Manager and Government Relations Manager. In these roles, she managed regulatory engagements, secured critical permits, and fostered strong relationships with government institutions at the highest levels.
Known for her leadership, emotional intelligence, and expertise in navigating complex external environments, Adewunmi is also a subject matter expert on non-technical risks. She studied law at Olabisi Onabanjo University and the Nigerian Law School.
According to NNPC, the appointments underscore the company’s commitment to strengthening corporate communications, regulatory compliance, and stakeholder engagement as it advances its strategic objectives.
