Pastor Enenche Rejects ₦30 Million Cash Donation from Kebbi State Governor
Senior Pastor of Dunamis International Gospel Centre, Dr. Paul Enenche, has declined a ₦30 million cash donation offered by Kebbi State Governor, Nasir Idris, during a recent church crusade in the state.
The donation was presented during the Kebbi Healing and Deliverance Crusade by the state’s Commissioner for Social Duties, Zayyanu Umar Aliero, who represented the governor.
“Our Governor, His Excellency Dr. Nasir Idris, has graciously approved ₦30 million for this crusade,” Aliero announced. “As is customary with him, the donation is here in cash and ready to be delivered.”
However, Pastor Enenche firmly declined the offer, urging that the funds be redirected to support charitable causes instead.
“If there is an orphanage or any similar need, kindly apply this money there. It will not be received by us,” he said while addressing the congregation.
Speaking further, the pastor emphasized the church’s commitment to financial integrity and the separation of church and state resources.
“We strongly believe that government funds should be used for government responsibilities, just as church resources should serve church purposes. We don’t mix the two,” Enenche stated.
He clarified that the Dunamis Glory Dome, the church’s megastructure in Abuja, was built entirely from church contributions, with no public funds involved.
To ensure transparency and proper allocation of such donations, Enenche suggested the funds be channeled through recognized religious institutions such as the Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board or the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN).
“This helps the church maintain its voice, its dignity, and its independence when it matters most,” he added.
Commissioner Aliero later expressed appreciation for Pastor Enenche’s stance, saying, “They rejected the donation because his service is for God. We respect and thank him for the good work he’s doing in Kebbi State.”
