FAAC Disburses N2.257tn April 2026 Revenue to FG, States, and LG Councils

The Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) has shared a total of N2.257 trillion in Federation Account revenue generated in April 2026 among the Federal Government, state governments, and local government councils.

The allocation, approved at the committee’s meeting in Abuja, comprised N1.260 trillion from statutory revenue, N747.088 billion from Value Added Tax (VAT), and N250 billion as augmentation.

According to the communiqué issued after the meeting, the N2.257 trillion distributable revenue comprised N1.260 trillion from statutory revenue, N747.088 billion from Value Added Tax (VAT), and N250 billion as augmentation.

FAAC disclosed that a total gross revenue of N3.184 trillion was available in April 2026. From this amount, N113.756 billion was deducted as the cost of collection, while N813.839 billion was set aside for transfers, refunds, and savings.

The committee further revealed that gross statutory revenue for April stood at N2.378 trillion, representing an increase of N678.224 billion compared to the N1.699 trillion recorded in March 2026.

Similarly, gross VAT revenue rose to N806.617 billion in April, up by N142.192 billion from the N664.425 billion generated in March 2026.

From the total distributable revenue of N2.257 trillion, the Federal Government received N787.351 billion, while the 36 state governments received N772.360 billion.

The 774 local government councils received N540.152 billion, while N157.254 billion, representing 13 per cent of mineral revenue, was allocated to oil-producing states as derivation revenue.

A breakdown of the N1.260 trillion statutory revenue showed that the Federal Government received N580.942 billion, the states received N294.661 billion, and the local government councils received N227.172 billion. The benefiting states also received N157.254 billion as derivation revenue.

From the N747.088 billion VAT revenue, the Federal Government received N74.709 billion, the states received N410.898 billion, while the local government councils received N261.481 billion.

The N250 billion augmentation was shared as follows: the Federal Government received N131.700 billion, the states received N66.800 billion, and the local governments received N51.500 billion.

FAAC noted that collections from Companies Income Tax (CIT), Capital Gains Tax (CGT), Stamp Duties (SDT), Import Duty, Oil and Gas Royalty, and Value Added Tax (VAT) recorded significant increases during the period.

However, revenues from Petroleum Profit Tax (PPT) and Hydrocarbon Tax (HT) declined considerably, while Excise Duty and Common External Tariff (CET) Levies rec

orded marginal decreases.
