CAC Postpones Implementation of New Portal Fees to September 1

The Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) has postponed the enforcement of new fees and penalties on its upgraded registration portal to September 1, 2025.
In a public notice, the Commission explained that the decision was taken in response to transitional challenges faced by users, including difficulties in downloading documents, processing payments, filing post-incorporation applications for business names, and uploading mandatory documents.
The charges, originally set to take effect on August 1, apply to documents not downloaded within seven days of approval. However, CAC noted that ongoing system issues necessitated a delay in order to ensure a smoother user experience.
“We are working tirelessly, alongside our technical partners and stakeholders, to stabilise the system without shutting down the entire portal,” the statement said.
The Commission added that the new implementation date offers temporary relief to businesses and allows more time to refine operations on its AI-powered platform, which was launched on June 30 to streamline services and cut down registration turnaround time.
The postponement also follows feedback from customers and stakeholders nationwide.
“We appreciate your patience and understanding,” CAC stated.
