Electricity Supply to Be Interrupted in Kubwa, Suleja and Bwari During TCN Maintenance
By Shola Johnson
Residents of Kubwa, Suleja, Bwari and neighbouring communities are expected to experience a temporary electricity supply disruption as the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) carries out scheduled maintenance at its Katampe 330/33kV Transmission Substation in Abuja.
TCN disclosed this in a statement issued on Saturday by its General Manager, Public Affairs, Ndidi Mbah, stating that the maintenance exercise would take place between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.
According to the company, its maintenance crew will work on a 150MVA 330/133/33kV transformer and its associated switchgear at the Katampe substation as part of efforts to ensure the reliability and efficiency of the transmission network.
TCN explained that the planned shutdown would temporarily affect bulk power supply to the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC), making it impossible for the distribution company to supply electricity to customers in the affected areas during the maintenance period.
The company appealed to residents and businesses in the impacted communities for understanding, assuring them that the exercise is necessary to enhance the performance and stability of power infrastructure.
TCN also apologised for the inconvenience the outage may cause customers served through the affected transformer.
