TOUCHSCIENCE AFRICA KICKS OFF IN NIGERIA
Science, Agriculture, Research,
TouchScience Africa, an innovative scientific research organisation, has launched its operations in Nigeria on Friday, September 26, 2025. The online event was aimed at introducing the organisation’s vision, mission, and goals to researchers and enthusiasts in science and agriculture throughout Africa.
The organisation is dedicated to connecting scientific research with real-world communities across Africa. Its tagline, “Science That Touches Us,” highlights the organisation’s aim to make science accessible, relevant, and impactful in everyday life.
According to a communiqué shared by the founder of the organisation, Dajie Odok, TouchScience encompasses areas such as Agriculture and Livelihood, Youth Engagement and Outreach, Science Communication, and Partnerships and Innovation.
Through its Agriculture and Livelihood program, the organisation supports farmers by providing hands-on training and facilitating direct engagement with scientific and technological solutions. Reportedly, over 2,000 farmers have been empowered through these programs.
TouchScience is dedicated to investing in young people by fostering their curiosity about science and helping them recognise its relevance in their lives and communities. Additionally, the organisation uses various media, storytelling, and public engagement channels to simplify complex scientific concepts and present them in relatable ways. Its social media platforms, including LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter (X), and YouTube, highlight themes such as “where research meets real life” and “science made simple.”
Most importantly, Touch Science Africa aims to connect researchers, innovators, and community stakeholders so that local problems can be met with science-informed solutions, not only top-down, but co-created.
Dajie Odok, the visionary behind Touch Science Africa, stated that the organisation aims to connect scientific knowledge with local contexts, linking research institutions with rural and underserved communities, as well as fostering opportunities for youth. Instead of promoting science in abstract terms, TouchScience Africa seeks to demonstrate how science can positively impact and transform lives in tangible ways.
Touch Science Africa appears to have been birthed in the right hands, as Dajie Odok possesses robust experience in the Scientific Research and Agriculture industry, with a strong hold in Communication.
“My leadership anchors TouchScience’s core principles: bringing together communities and researchers, pushing for accessible scientific literacy, and ensuring local voices are included in creating scientific solutions. Any story about TouchScience should emphasise that my founding role is not just titular but central to shaping the mission, direction, and relationships the organisation maintains,” Dajie assured.
